Laura Berretta

Expertise: Advanced Instrumental Analysis II  

My name is Laura Berretta and I currently reside in Brooklyn, NY. I went to Binghamton University for my Undergraduate studies, and received my Master’s degree from John Jay College. I’m currently performing research for my Doctorate on the forensic analysis of nail polish. I’ve been an adjunct instructor at John Jay College for 10 years, where I have taught a variety of science labs and lectures. In 2016, I started my dream job as a Forensic Scientist working for the NYPD.

Stephanie Polifroni

Expertise: –  Instrumental Analysis – Science Department

I have been with John Jay College for 12 years as both a student and instructor, and now coach.  I received a BS in Chemistry from Hofstra University, MS in Forensic Science from John Jay College, and I am currently finishing my PhD in Criminal Justice (Forensic Science Concentration) through the Graduate Center/John Jay College.  I have taught undergraduate introductory forensic science and chemistry lectures and labs, as well as, upper level undergraduate labs (including instrumentation and criminalistics).  I currently work for the NYPD Police Laboratory as a Criminalist in the Criminalistics Section performing analysis on evidence submitted to the lab from the 5 boroughs of New York City
